We will be in the studio soon in LA putting down the tracks to our original theme song to Gradation. Original score by Saul Mong, the multi-talented Lynne Newton on the mic and lyrics by Mike Breyer & tweaked for the studio by Lynne Newton.
Been busy editing and cutting a new version of the film. As an editor, it is easy to get used to a certain version of the film that seems close to a finished product, but upon feedback and time away, I decided it isn't ready to show yet. I've narrowed it down to ninety minutes so far and included ADR and inserted new cuts in almost every scene. The sound is getting there, but needs some more time to tweak. Overall, I'm pleased, but quality takes time and I am the only person in post production. More to come...
Thrilled to have been cast as Hannibal in Lynne Newtons new film Enipheres that is currently in script form and pre-production.
Will be busy next week in the editing bay with Premiere Pro on my feature film Gradation which is in post production.
Still need some help with mixing the 5.1 surround mix. Wondering if a standard six speaker set up will suffice. I do know the export settings and how to layer the stems for that type of mix.
I'm sure a stereo mix on Blu Ray will work, but I want to learn how to mix surround for future projects and in reality, I simply like the process.
More to come...
Official Movie Poster for our feature film Gradation. Currently still in post production. Palm Springs, CA
The Hottest Peppers in the world! I'm going to plant the seeds and roast the chilis. Or make pepper spray!
We spent the day up in the mountains of Idyllwild today for my Birthday and we had a great time. The drive was amazing and it was fun to take Bella with us to eat. The food at Fratello's was awesome and it was nice to sit outside on the patio with a bottle of wine and people watch. Very authentic Italian cuisine. To go, we took home a large Margherita Pizza. Definitely going back!
Our selection of the most finest Italian cured meats, cheeses, olives & roasted vegetables.

Veal with lemon butter sauce, pine nuts, and capers.
Tomato suace, mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, basil, and oregano.
Been busy at Frogg1 Productions working on our feature film Gradation with Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition and Adobe After Effects. Things are moving along and the film is currently running at just under two hours. I have some more cutting to do and sound adjustments. Looking forward to our Producer and star Lynne Newton coming out here to view the current version in a couple of weeks. At this point, I need another set of eyes to help cut the film.

The movie trailer is currently an extended version, but will be cut down for distribution purposes.
We had a great time visiting family in LA last night. Good food, ambiance & seeing family we hadn't seen in awhile. The drive there was fast but we had a dead battery and then got stuck on the 10 freeway in traffic for an hour due to a nasty accident (never saw what happened) on the way home. Making homemade pizza on the stone tonight. Pics to follow. Feels great to be back in Palm Springs!
So I've been slowly navigating from Social Media to my website so I haven't left the country! Gradation is still in post production and is coming along at a little under two hours. There are a few shoot dates left to tie things together as well as tweaking the film. In addition, I still have to try and cut it down a little more but that does not mean cutting scenes. Moreover, I will be experimenting with Voice Overs to see if that would translate to the audience in a good way. I would say I am eighty percent finished with the film, but quality takes time and the last twenty percent needs to be up to my standards.
Thanks again for stopping by!
Wow, our ac compressor went out and we were without air downstairs for a week. At least we had the Casita and a portable unit from The General downstairs. Now I'm back editing Gradation. I've added music, special effects and may have to add voice overs to some scenes where the sound isn't up to par.
Or unless I decide to do ADR.
Won't be on Facebook much anymore so check back here for updates!
The updates to Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition are great, but a few cancelled out work that I already performed. Oh well, at least the sound editing will be easier with the addition of Sound Essentials.
We had so many people staying with us in Palm Springs lately, that I haven't had much time to edit the film. That seems to be over since it is getting hot hot hot here. This week will be nine to five editing!
