Between the humidity and the Haboob, it has been pretty nasty around here. Busy day watering and cleaning the solar panels. All is back to normal. Virgo style. Busy week ahead editing Cascade Rd at Frogg1 Productions.

The trailer to Cascade Rd has had a lot of views and people seem to like it. I wasn't anticipating it to be thriller but more of a drama. I may need to shoot additional scenes to complete it. As always, I'm up for the challenge. Busy week ahead editing at Frogg1 Productions.
~Mike Post Production begins today on Cascade Rd filmed in South Dakota. The film should be completed by the end of August. September will be filled with finishing the script to Gradation, SAG paperwork and final pre-production tweaks. We should be ready to begin principal photography in October.
We had a great time visiting my parents and shooting my short film Cascade Rd. As much as I miss the people, the slower pace and small town feel, I am glad to be back in Palm Springs. Not a lot of pics, because we stayed home most of the time. I didn't post any Cascade Rd film stills here. More on that since my film is in post production now. Movie trailer will be on Vimeo HD soon! --Mike Extra spicy (Habaneros) with pickles since I ran out of Capers. Finished with Hungarian Paprika. Casa de P&M.
I love Purple Room. What we like to do is sit at the bar, order a cocktail and order off the happy hour small plates menu. Since Jennifer took over the kitchen, the food is amazing. The plates are well thought out, current and very tasty. There is also entertainment on the stage. This used to be the Rat Pack hangout. Cool decor, great food, friendly staff and close to the crib. The place filled up quick right after I took this pic. Food pics on Yelp.
Besides the gym, it is great to be able to exercise in the pool. Although it is hot here in the desert, I really don't like being in air conditioning all the time. I am enjoying the summer away from writing and my computer for the most part. I am either full on or off when it comes to film projects. Looking forward to our vacation next week!
Love making Fish Tacos at home. That way I can tweak them the way I want. Especially with the Scoville Scale part. I like my heat and I like it hot. Grilled Cod, shredded Lettuce, Radish sticks, Carrot, fresh Mint & Sage, Lemon, Lime and Tomatoes from the garden. Yes, I'm a chili head. I topped these bad boys off with a mixture of Mayo, Sour Cream, Yogurt Blue Cheese, Garlic Powder and Ghost Pepper. Nicely tucked in Taco boats.
It felt great to finally get back to the gym. EOS Fitness has a great view of the Palm Springs International Airport and is only two miles from the crib. No resolution needed, I'm sticking to it. I also need to be able to fit into my clothes for filming.
If it seems like I have been missing from social media, you are right! I have taken the summer off from Facebook, Twitter, Intagram etc. I will be transitioning to posting those things here on my blog. I also just felt the need to become more private.
Really looking forward to our trip to South Dakota later this month. It will be great to see my parents who are not getting any younger and to spend quality time with them. As usual, I will be bringing my culinary skills to Hot Springs as well. I haven't had an Indian Taco since my last trip for their 50th wedding anniversary. I will also be finishing my short film Cascade Rd. Pics and posts to come for that trip. I will be getting back to the script for Gradation upon my return from Hot Springs. We will Probably start shooting in September. Been really busy revamping our e-commerce site and marketing for that. We had a great breakfast at Sunshine Cafe in Cathedral City. I always love going to old school diners with that truck stop feel. The food is good and so is the price. Friendly service, but the food took awhile. Then again, there is no rush here in the desert. I don't always have to go to Spencer's.
